April 17 Tax Deadline
For all you US forex traders out there who've put off your taxes to the last minute (like me), I just discovered some good news you may not have known about. I'd just assumed the 2007 IRS deadline was Monday, April 16...first business day after April 15, right? Well it turns out April 16 is a little-known holiday in Washington, DC (Emancipation Day, my new favorite holiday) and because of an equally little-known federal law, holidays in Washington mean the IRS has to move its deadline back nationwide. So you have until Tuesday, April 17 to file taxes on all those forex gains (or losses). Read all about it on the IRS site.
Or maybe you already knew that. In which case, you're a better citizen than me. Happy Emancipation Day!
